The Foundation Board of Southwest Georgia Technical College (SWGTC) has been awarded The Technical College Foundation Association of Georgia, Inc. (TCFA) “Role Model Foundation Board” designation.  SWGTC is the first and only college in the Technical College System of Georgia to have received this esteemed designation.

The award was presented to the SWGTC Foundation Board at a TCSG meeting held in Macon October 21st.  In order to receive the designation, the Foundation Board members had to meet several criteria including attending TCSG sponsored workshops, attending a parliamentary procedures workshop, attending and observing a TCSG class, and raising a minimum donation from local donors or sponsors.

Requirements also included a 75% attendance rate of meetings by Board members, attendance at least one SWGTC graduation ceremony, and chairing a fundraising event for the SWGTC Foundation.

“It is truly an honor for SWGTC to have been given this designation,” said SWGTC President Dr. Craig Wentworth. “This is a clear demonstration of the commitment on the part of our Foundation Board to the College and its efforts to provide the best in educational services to the three counties in our service area. They give a great deal of their time to the College and we are most appreciative of their efforts on the Foundation’s behalf.”

The SWGTC Foundation Board is comprised of representatives from Thomas, Grady, and Mitchell Counties.
